How to clean tea cup stains in five minutes without bleach or scrubbing
Even if tea cups are cleaned right away, the drink can still manage to cling and stain.
Many people would resort to scrubbing the cup at this point, however, that doesn’t always lead to successful results.
Bleach is something many reach for but it doesn’t actually remove stains, it simply whitens and masks the area – and it’s got a very potent smell.
Having found a “better” alternative to bleach to clean tea cup stains, one man took to the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page to share a “great method”.
Posting a picture of the inside of his “sparkling” white mug, Dean Johnson said: “I would just like to say thanks to the person that suggested using denture tablets to clean inside of mugs.
Steradent denture tablets can be picked up from Amazon for 99p or from Sainsbury’s and Tesco for £1.
Taking to the comments, one user asked how to use the tablets to remove the stains. Lucy Davis said: “Oh I’ll be trying this then. I hate the smell of bleach. How did you use the denture tablets?”
Dean replied: “Me too, hate bleach. No need for it myself. Just add one tablet to the cup and some hot water. Leave for five minutes and wash and rinse well, then it’s brand new.”
Mrs Hinch fans also recommended using denture tablets for anyone looking to clean their toilet bowls.
Marie Thompson said: “I use these in my toilet bowl. They are amazing just drop one in when you go to bed and leave it to work.”
Dianne Hutton wrote: “Denture tablets are also good for toilet bowls too if you don’t like using bleach.”
