Nissan’s Sexy New Murano Has A Not-So-Sexy Price Tag
The aging Nissan Murano has finally been replaced for 2025. In trying to find a place for it in the brand’s lineup, Nissan has gone more upscale and more overtly stylish. Making the Murano more premium, with new interior themes, a larger cabin, and new levels of quiet has worked, we found in our first drive of this Nissan. But it also comes with a higher price. The all-new 2025 Nissan Murano starts at $40,470, which is up from the $38,470 price tag of last year’s model.

Nissan does offer you more for that higher price, starting with 20-inch wheels instead of the 18s it offered last year. That the entry-level SV trim comes with such big wheels and tires says a lot about how Nissan is pitching this model, which is an important one for the brand. If you want a bargain, get a Rogue. If you want something a touch fancier, the Murano is here for you.
2025 Murano Adds New Engine, More Tech
Every 2025 Murano comes with Nissan’s 2.0-liter variable compression turbocharged four-cylinder. The innovative engine has been around since 2017 in various Nissan and Infiniti products, but with 241 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, the Murano gets the lowest-power version of it yet. The inline-four replaces Nissan’s venerable 3.5-liter V6, which made 260 hp and 240 lb-ft in the outgoing model. This year, it gets a nine-speed automatic instead of the unloved CVT.

The new cabin offers an extra 1.5 inches of front headroom and four inches of extra legroom. Passengers in the back get slightly less legroom, though the extra room up front suggests driving position has a big impact. Cargo space is 32.9 cubic feet behind the second row and 63.4 with the seats folded, slightly lower than last year’s model.

2025 Murano Offers Massage Seats For First Time
SV grade offers front-wheel drive or AWD for $1,000 more. It comes with leatherette seats with heating for the front pair and 8-way power adjustment. A 12.3-inch center display with Google Built-In is standard, and wireless CarPlay and Android Auto are included. Active noise cancelation is standard, as is adaptive cruise control and a wide range of advanced driver assists.
SL trim, from $46,560, adds a heated steering wheel as well as Bose Audio. It includes Amazon Alexa and satellite radio, as well as an auto-dimming rearview mirror. Tech upgrades include a surround-view monitor and a more advanced version of Nissan’s ProPilot Assist.

Everything from the design to the interior to the engines is new in an effort to breathe some life into the Murano.
Top of the range is the Platinum grade at $49,600. It adds power adjustment to the steering wheel and includes 21-inch wheels. Platinum upgrades to semi-aniline leather seats with heating, cooling, and massage for the front seats. It includes a head-up display and a hands-free power tailgate. Production of the 2025 Nissan Murano is already underway, and deliveries are expected to start early in 2025.
