The MY2025 price for the Subaru WRX has been released, and it will be less accessible for customers eyeing the turbocharged rally-bred sedan – among the few sttill available with a manual gearbox. However, the Japanese automaker has removed the WRX base trim for next year, leaving the pricier WRX Premium as the entry-level model.

With a price hike across the lineup, the 2025 Subaru WRX now starts at $35,750 or a $3,015 gap from the outgoing model’s starting price. Both the Premium and Limited trims receive a $1,115 price increase, while the top-spec GT is $1,490 more expensive than before, now priced at $45,705. Subaru has also dropped the TR trim, replacing it with the sporty, new-for-2025 WRX tS that’s as expensive as the GT.

Subaru Makes Very Subtle Changes To 2025 WRX Styling

Subaru hasn’t provided any images for the 2025 WRX, but it only employed minor changes that can also be seen in the WRX tS (depicted here). All trims get a red WRX badge on the grille and the trunk lid, while a new Galaxy Purple color option has been added for $395, a nod to the popular Plasma Blue from the third-generation WRX. Inside, every model (sans the tS) receives a revised red contrast “WRX” stitching in the dash, while the Limited and GT get updated red contrast stitching on seat bolsters and headrests.

The WRX tS differs from the pack with lots of blue accents in the Ultrasuede-clad cabin. The tuned-by-STI-but-not-really-an-STI model boasts some performance goodies, though, such as the new electronically controlled dampers and a high-performance Brembo braking system with 6-piston front and 2-piston rear calipers in signature gold and larger pads and rotors. Even better, it comes equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, unlike the CVT-only GT.

Same Boxer Engine For 2025MY

There isn’t any update to the 2.4-liter turbocharged boxer engine for 2025, retaining its output of 271 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Even without the base model WRX, you can still get the sedan with a manual gearbox outside the tS with the Premium and Limited trims. Subaru’s award-winning EyeSight driver assist and DriverFocus distraction mitigation technologies are standard on all trim levels, including manual models.
