2026 Range Rover Sport SV Black Goes For Stealth Instead Of Flash

Land Rover expanded the Range Rover Sport lineup for the 2024 model year with a performance flagship model dubbed the SV, but getting your hands on one wasn’t easy, as production was limited and Land Rover only offered it via invite-only. Additional versions of the Range Rover Sport SV were launched for 2025, and now Land Rover has yet another version for 2026, though its availability in the US hasn’t been confirmed just yet.

The new version is the Range Rover Sport SV Black. As the name suggests, the vehicle features black finishes on almost every surface – inside and out. According to Land Rover, they’re meant to make the vehicle appear as if it’s been immersed in black gloss. You know, a bit like Plasti Dipping your wheels, but doing the whole vehicle this time.

The all-black theme is already popular with Range Rover Sport SV buyers. As a result, the designers had to go a step further for the dedicated Black version. They chose Land Rover’s Narvik Black paint for the body, along with matching gloss accents for items like the 23-inch forged alloy wheels, brake calipers, and exhaust tips – and for the first time, even the SV badges on the vehicle are finished in black.

Inside, black leather is joined by gloss black accents and a set of illuminated door sill treadplates bearing the “SV Black” script.

The Range Rover Sport offers prestige with some off-road credibility.

Up front are 16-way adjustable seats that are exclusive to the SV. They feature Land Rover’s Body and Soul Seat technology, which uses transducers built into the seat to generate vibrations that let you feel the beat of a song. A wellness feature is also included, using the same transducers to promote relaxation and reduce stress by influencing the occupant’s heart rate variability. The same technology is also featured in the hardcore Defender OCTA off-roader.

The Black treatment doesn’t add any extra performance. Under the hood is a BMW-sourced twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 paired with a mild-hybrid system. It works together with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel-drive system. Peak output is 626 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, or enough for 0-60 mph acceleration in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 180 mph, according to Land Rover.

The Range Rover Sport SV also benefits from weight-saving measures totaling up to just over 167 pounds. These include, either as standard or optional, lightweight features like a carbon-fiber hood (standard on the Black edition), carbon-fiber wheels, and carbon-ceramic brake rotors.

Limited to just three units, the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SV Park City Edition is named after the famed ski town.

The Range Rover Sport SV Black will make its world debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which runs in the UK from 10-13 July. Order books will open later in the year. We’ve reached out to Land Rover for details on the SUV’s availability in the US and will update this article accordingly.
