delta 4×4 Slaps Off Road Wheels And Tires On A Ferrari Purosangue And Sends It To The Panamericana
Ferrari launched the Purosangue with the insistence it wasn’t an SUV as it would never stoop so low as to sell one of those. Instead, the Ferrari Purosangue is an FUV (Ferrari Utility Vehicle). As well as 715 horsepower on tap from its V12 engine and the ability to hit 62 mph in 3.3 seconds from a standstill, it boasts high-tech adaptive suspension that dispenses with roll bars, rear-axle steering, Side Slip Control, and a suspension lifter is available to manually increase the ground clearance for difficult terrain. Despite the Purosangue not being an SUV as defined by Ferrari, the German off-road parts company delta4x4 has equipped a Purosangue with BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires and beadlock wheels so it can tackle legendary Pan-American Highway run.
Beadlockers And BF Goodrich Tires Transform The FUV
Specifically, this Ferrari Purosangue is fitted with a set of BF Goodrich Trail Terrain 245/50R20 front and 255/50R20 rear tires on delta4x4’s own new Force Light Beadlock wheels for its customer, someone that goes by the social media handle @sammyautotester. According to delta4x4, the beadlock wheel is lightweight, can handle extreme loads, and since it is “specifically designed for demanding off-road adventures, it impresses with its innovative construction, lightweight design, and high durability.”

delta4x4 has been around since 1980, having started as friends in a garage in Schondorf am Ammersee in Germany, taking on the Paris-Dakar rally with a modified Suzuki LJ80. From that, Josef Loder had the idea of selling accessories for the little Suzuki. In 1990 delta4x4 became the official representative of the rally in Germany, and the first point of contact for German drivers and sponsors. Now, delta4x4 is a huge accessory company and builder of off-road monsters – including some previous work on a Ferrari Purosangue not-an-SUV.
The Pan-American Highway
For @sammyautotester’s Ferrari Purosangue to cover the Panamerica route, the wheels will have to live up to the hype. The Pan-American Highway starts in Argentina, at the southern tip of South America, and runs all the way up to Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, in the northernmost part of North America. The majority of the route is paved highways and freeways, but can be challenging in areas like Montevideo, Colombia, and Chile.
Particularly hard to cross is the Darién Gap between Panama and Colombia. It’s 66 roadless miles of dense, mountainous jungle and swamp full of deadly animals, including the fer-de-lance pit viper, Brazilian wandering spiders, black scorpions, crocodiles, revolutionary paramilitary groups, and human traffickers. Just for some additional hazard, there are also a bunch of unexploded Cold War military bombs littered about.

The crossing has challenged some big expeditions in the past, notably a couple separately using Range Rovers and CJ7 generation Jeeps as their primary vehicles. Hopefully, @sammyautotester has thought this through properly as making it through would require a logistical support system. It’s incredibly unlikely anyone has tried to cross it with a Ferrari, and we doubt anyone will – let alone with just a set of specialty wheels and tires. We suspect that, like most adventurers on the Pan-American Highway, the Ferrari Purosangue will be shipped around the area.
