The Ford Bronco is going back to basics. The retro off-roader lost its screaming-deal base trim for 2024, making it far more expensive to get into the blue oval’s Jeep Wrangler-fighter. Now The Drive has dug up a leaked order sheet that says the Bronco Base is back, but the overlander Everglades, the mid-spec Black Diamond, and the Heritage Series are all gone.

When the Ford Bronco launched in 2021, Ford offered a dizzying array of trim grades for its reborn off-roader. When it later added even more, including the ’60s graphics of the Heritage Limited model, the winch and deep-water capability of the Everglades, and the crush small buildings Raptor, the lineup was positively massive. Perhaps too massive.

Ford Bronco’s Trim Grades Ever Changing

For 2024, Ford dropped the base Bronco model, raising the price of entry from just under $35,000 to $41,525. Was the base model not popular enough? The seven-speed stick and available 10-speed auto, two—or four-door body, and part-time 4×4 with 30-inch tires all seemed like great features for an entry-spec model.

You could even add the Sasquatch package with its upgraded 4×4 system. That’s front and rear lockers, a 4.7:1 final drive, high clearance suspension, and 35-inch Goodyear MT tires, without getting all the luxury extras of higher trims.

That includes flooded terrain with over three feet of water, if you’re in the Everglades special edition.

But evidently, Ford decided it didn’t want it for that year. At least the automaker has changed its mind and brought the Base trim Bronco back for 2025. The order sheet for the 2025 model was leaked onto a private Facebook group and spotted by The Drive. It says the Base model will have Late Availability, which usually means it won’t be built until the second half of the model year run. Think May at the earliest.

Base Is Back As Lineup Shuffles

There’s no price to accompany it, but cutting $6k off the Big Bend trim like it did in 2023 seems likely. This would leave you with almost enough cash to pay for the Sasquatch package and come out even with the 2024 Big Bend entry model.

We’re not surprised to see the Heritage Edition model dead. When it launched in 2023, Ford said it planned to build just 1,966 copies of the Bronco with white grille and roof, a nod to the first year of Bronco production. A version of it stuck around for 2024, but has now essentially been replaced by the Free Wheeling trim. The Wildtrak is also gone, but the Stroppe Special Edition takes its place.

The surprise is that the Everglades trim is gone, per the leaked order sheet. The Everglades came stock with the Sasquatch package and its off-road extras, a snorkel designed to keep dust, snow, and water out of the intake, and a Warn winch factory installed on the steel front bumper. Ford had announced the return of the package for 2024, but the company’s website says it’s not available to order. Its removal from those 2025 order sheets confirms that the model is dead. Ford PR said it would have “more to share” on the 2025 model in a few weeks. Order books for the 2025 Ford Bronco were expected to open this week. Production is set to begin at the start of 2025.
