King Charles could be earning up to a staggering £1.4million each year from renting royal properties across the country, a new study has shown.
The Royal Family has a vast collection of royal properties and many of them are being rented out during the holidays.
According to data sourced by holiday lettings experts, Pikl Insurance, the royals could be cashing in approximately £118,775.85 per month, which amounts to a whopping £1,425,310.20 annually, from their holiday let portfolio.
The study stated that even with cancellation figures considered, the monarchy is still estimated to be bringing in a net annual income of slightly over £1.4million.
Four of the main royal properties currently open to the public include Balmoral Castle, the Castle of Mey’s Captain House, Restormel Manor and Dumfries House.
The research revealed that the Royal Family’s favourite summertime retreat, Balmoral Castle in Scotland, is estimated to bring in a substantial £36,798.30 per month, after accounting for anticipated cancellations.
But it’s not the most profitable one as Restormel Manor in Cornwall generates an impressive £47,082 per month.
The manor features four different areas within its walls that are available for the public to book, alongside six different converted barns on the property.
In Ayrshire, Scotland, Dumfries House adds £31,185.63 to the royal coffers with over 25 rooms available to book.
Lastly, the Castle of Mey’s Captain House in the Scottish Highlands is said to bring in a modest £3,709.92 monthly, with the entire property available to book.
The research stated: “While the primary role of the Royal Family is undoubtedly to serve the nation, it’s clear that their properties also represent a valuable asset.
“These figures underscore the significant financial potential of the royal estate and offer a fascinating glimpse into the business side of the monarchy.”
