New Lancia Ypsilon Revealed Weeks Ahead Of Schedule
Without warning, Lancia has revealed the all-new Ypsilon electric vehicle, its first new car in nearly a decade. Like Lancias before it, the Ypsilon defies convention with a quirky and distinctive exterior, tasteful detailing, and a left-field approach to interior design.
Ahead of the official reveal on February 14, Lancia has treated us to an early look at the Edizione Limitata Cassina, a special edition (limited to 1,906 units) created in collaboration with Cassina, a high-end Italian furniture designer. But before we get into that, let’s dissect the styling, inside and out.
We wouldn’t describe the Ypsilon as classically beautiful, but it’s got bundles of character. The rear fascia is adorned with Lancia Stratos-inspired LED taillights, with the new Lancia logo taking pride of place on the tailgate. The bold and elegant font takes inspiration from Italy’s fashion brands, resembling Bulgari’s iconic font. It’s a shame the Shield logo is nowhere to be found.
