Genesis Is Working On A Proper BMW Rival With Hybrid Power
Reports coming out of Asia claim that Genesis is hard at work on a rear-biased hybrid system. A report in the Asiae newspaper says that the Korean automaker is currently working to create its first proper plug-in hybrid.
Sister companies Hyundai and Kia both have hybrid vehicles, but these are front-wheel-biased. By creating a rear-biased system, it appears that Genesis is taking aim at the likes of BMW and Mercedes. However, a spokesperson says that we shouldn’t get too excited just yet.
“Of course, research on various powertrains is needed… [but] there is nothing officially under development for the purpose of mass production.” That choice of words could be very telling.
